On the decay of data

I've imported a bunch of older posts from previous blogs. Some of them are embarassingly bad, but they were important in shaping my career and they (hopefully!) show some progress. The previous sites used Jekyll, Octopress, Hakyll, and (also) Pelican. Naturally links might be broken and images might not work. I'm slowly getting around to trying to fix some of them, but a surprising amount of stuff has just been lost to time.

For example, in On matrix transforms, the Python example is nowhere to be found. I ended up having to go through a bunch of hoops to reconstruct something to demo the stuff in the script, but I have no idea what the original was. On the other hand, I got a crash course game, because it turns out to be easier to animate and draw vectors than with mathplotlib.

Another thing: two of the posts in one of the blogs reference a devlog from writing a Pi OS; the repo for that OS and the blog itself are nowhere to be found. It doesn't help that I have so many repo storage places (github, gitlab, sourcehut, gitea).
